Samsung Unveils Foldable Phone, S10 Range and Accessories in Samsung Unpacked 2019

For all tech, gadget lovers and everyone that missed out, the Samsung Unpacked 2019 was just one technological advancement after another. From incredible folding smartphones to reverse wireless charging a bunch of new wearables, to the newest flagships, here’s everything you missed at the event held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.

Kicking off the show was the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Fold, Korea’s biggest development in the last 10 years.

Features of the Samsung Galaxy Fold:

  • 512GB of on-board storage
  • 4,380mAh battery capacity
  • Optional 5G support
  • 4.6-inch display when folded and can open out to a 7.3-inch display
  • 6 cameras – three on the back, two on the inside and one on the front.
  • 12GB RAM

The Samsung Galaxy Fold is set to launch on 26 April, with a starting price of $1,980 / €2,000.

Also unveiled were the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus range.

The highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S10 had three models unveiled: S10e, S10 and S10 Plus.

  • 256GB storage – microSD support of up to 512GB

  • 10MP front-facing camera
  • Triple-lens rear camera
  • 512GB storage
  • 6.1-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED curved screen
  • Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner

Features of Samsung Galaxy S10+

  • 2 front-facing cameras
  • In-screen fingerprint scanner
  • 4,100mAh
  • 12GB of RAM
  • 1TB storage

The S10e goes for $749/£669 while the S10 and S10+ weigh in at $899/£799 and $999/£899, respectively. They can be pre-ordered but won’t be available till June.

Galaxy S10 and S10+ pre-orders made between now and March 7 will also include free Samsung Galaxy Buds which cost $120.

Also unveiled was the Samsung Galaxy S105G which boasts of a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display, 3D depth-sensing camera, useful for augmented and virtual reality, a 4,500mAh battery capacity, and more.

The S105G will launch when 5G network signals become available across the globe.

Samsung also unveiled their new accessories including the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active, Samsung Galaxy Fit & Galaxy Fit E, and the Samsung Galaxy Buds similar to the Apple Airpods released in 2018.
