A-Year-Old Baby Girl Dies After Family Friend’s Rottweiler Attacks Her inside Grandfather’s Home: Report

A 1-year-old Nevada toddler passed away on Saturday after a Rottweiler attacked her inside her grandfather’s Henderson home.

FOX 5  Las Vegas reports that Henderson Police said officers, along with animal control, arrived at a residence off of the 100 block of Appian Way, close to East Tamarack Drive, at around 8 a.m. on Saturday morning. According to the family, a 4-year-old Rottweiler belonging to a friend attacked the girl in what was called a “dog bite accident.”

The little girl was rushed to Henderson Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She passed away shortly after. According to KNTV, the little girl has been identified as 1-year-old Kyna Marie Pamela Deshane, of Ely.

The homeowner, identified as Richard, told the outlet that the girl was his grandchild. She’d been around the dog many times in the past, according to the grandfather, who isn’t sure why the incident happened. At the owner’s request, the dog was euthanized.

Neighbor Michael Seed, who saw the dog on numerous occasions, said he never heard the pup bark much and never saw him act aggressively. He added that despite how well-behaved an animal may be, no one really knows when or if an animal will attack.

“No matter how well you think you know your animal, things can happen,” neighbor Michael Seed said.

The child’s official cause of death will be released after the Clark County coroner’s office finishes the autopsy.

The story continues to develop.
