I Will Appoint A Qualified Nigerian Under 30 As Youth Minister


While addressing thousands of youth who organized a town hall session with him in Lagos today, the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) stated that if elected president after the 2019 general elections, he would appoint a suitably qualified Nigerian not older than the age of 30 as his youth minister. This he stated in alignment with his promise to devote 40% of his cabinet to women and youths.

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who attended the event with his running mate, former Governor Peter Obi, alsostated that his government would invest heavily in education, so Nigeria canproduce citizens who would be useful to the nation and to their families andimmediate communities. Continuing, Atiku said “I have many children butonly one of them is working with the government, all others are working in myvarious companies. I believe in creating jobs, my government will create jobsfor the youth”

The meeting had in attendance various PDP leaders and stalwarts including the National Chairman of the Party Uche Secondus who told the youth that “Atiku will work with the youth to develop Nigeria”. Also, the PDP governorship candidate in the state, Jimi Agbajeen joined the crowd to give the PDP a chance in Lagos and say no to the monopoly of governance that has made Lagos become a “one man Lagos”
