The stars seem to have aligned for Eli Waduba Yusuf, a budding Nigerian hyperrealism artist whose love for art has finally paid off in a big way.

On Tuesday, February 25, Yusuf posted a drawing of American actor, comedian and producer, Kevin Hart on Twitter and asked his fellow Nigerians to help share in order to get it seen by the Hollywood star. He captioned it:

“My name is Eli Waduba Yusuf. Am a Nigerian, based in Kaduna. Am a hyperrealism PENCIL Artist, I hope to become like @Harinzeyart. Please Retweet, let @KevinHart4real see it, thank you.”

As fate would have it, a little over an hour after his post, he got a reply tweet from Hart saying:

“I see it and I want to purchase it…I also want to support you and your amazing talent by giving you a fee to do a pencil drawing of 3 of my celebrity friends that I can gift it to. DM your info and let’s get to work!”

Twitter and Instagram have been blowing up with comments, retweets and reposts ever since.

Yusuf is a Kaduna-based artist whose dream is to be like the famous Arinze Egbengwu, a hyperrealistic pencil artist.

Turns out Hart had been asking for information about the artist in his earlier posts. He was so impressed with the result that after finally getting Yusuf’s twitter handle, he proceeded to offer him a job.

Congrats to Yusuf!
